Give Me Liberty

Why Conservatism Will Save Our Nation

Welcome To Our Site...

America was founded for a divine purpose and she has a divine destiny. We must stand up and defend our nation and protect our liberty because God gave it to us to preserve. The cause of liberty must sink deep into the heart of every man, woman, and child. We must preach liberty from the rooftops because "liberty is too Precious a thing to be buried in books." So "give me liberty...or give me death."

Primary Season Again

Posted By on May 24, 2011

So the Hawkeye Caucai is only 8 months away. The 2012 Primary Season is just around the corner, and the first Republican Debate took place this week. So I figured this would be a great time to go on record with the candidates I support.

Who I Will Be Supporting

This is the short list of those who have declared or expressed interest in running. I could see myself supporting any of these campaigns in the days to come, and the list is in my current order of preference:

  • #1 John Bolton
  • #2 Herman Cain
  • #3 Rick Santorum
  • #4 Michele Bachmann
  • #5 Mitt Romney
  • #6 Sarah Palin
  • #7 Tim Pawlenty

In the days to come I will be posting comments on the debates and the campaigns as they formalize and as the candidates begin to campaign. It will be important to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each potential candidate and then further discuss who will be the best nominee.

Who I Would Have Considered

Here are the candidates I would have put on the list if they were running:

  • Haley Barbour
  • Jim DeMint
  • Bobby Jindal
  • Bob McDonnell
  • Mike Pence
  • David Petraeus
  • Marco Rubio

Who I Will Not Support in the Primaries

And on that note here is a list of candidates I will NOT be supporting in the primaries:

  • Mike Huckabee
  • Donald Trump
  • Jon Huntsman Jr.
  • Newt Gingrich
  • Chris Christie
  • Mitch Daniels Jr.
  • Rudy Giuliani
  • Ron Paul

A Brief History of Israel

Obama and most liberals hate Israel and wish it was never created. That may sound harsh, but it is the truth. If you caught them all being candid they would probably parrot the exact same things Helen Thomas said earlier this year.

Their feelings are obvious when you listen to what they say. What President Obama said in Jakarta speaks clearly.

The history of Israel outlined in this clip provides some context that most liberals are conveniently unaware of.

Happy Veteran’s Day – Thank You!

A big shout out to all who have served in the military – thank you for your service! We would not be a free nation without you. Every prosperous society must protect itself from enemies foreign and domestic and for nearly 3 generations those of you still living have carried the torch or better yet have yielded the sword so that we don’t have to.

I’m glad we celebrate this holiday in November, which is really a month of Thanksgiving. We thank you and your families for the tremendous sacrifice you have made. We are proud of you and we salute you.

November 2 Recap

Posted By on November 3, 2010

Well it was a tremendous victory for Conservatism!

In the House we ousted the Dragon Queen and Republicans won 56% of the races that have been called.

In the Senate Republicans so far have won 23 to 12 or 65% of the seats that were up for election!

And in my opinion the best result is the number of governorships and secretaries of state that were won by Republicans. Of the 34 state races that have been decided, Republicans won 23 (held 11 and picked up 12) of them or 68%.

The spin in the media focuses on the fact that the Democrats kept the House, did not give up a super-majority in the House, and that Brown won in California. But if you contrast that with the fact that Republicans beat out a huge number of incumbents, won a huge majority of the senate seats that were up, and now control a big number of state governments, then it is clear that the liberal media is full of it.

No one is talking about this but if you look at the results map it appears that democrats only beat out 3 incumbent Republicans (Hawaii, Louisiana, and Delaware). The Republican gains of between 60-70 seats makes for the largest pickup in Congress since 1948.

The truth is Conservatism has been on a roll for a long time. Where Conservatives run they often win. We went into the bluest of blue states and made great gains. If we would have had actual conservatives in California I believe we would have won those races, and if the Republican establishment would have stepped up and back the conservatives like Christine O’Donnell and Sharon Angle I believe the results there would have been much different.

Let’s not get shot while we have a victory dance, there is still a ton of work to do. The real battle is in teaching our principles to the uninformed first, and the misinformed second, then we should focus on motivating everyone. I have very little hope for most of the corrupted and backwards liberals, but the good thing is they only make up a very small percentage of people.

It’s time to get going!

“A Time for Choosing” Again

It was 46 years ago tonight when Reagan gave this speech. We could really use another statesman like Reagan who was bold, articulate, and humorous. This is a great address and it is good to listen to every now and again to remind us of the battle that we still face today.

We’re All Busy

Posted By on September 24, 2010

I haven’t had a chance to write nearly as much as I would like (last year I was blogging daily and wish I could do that again). Life has me busier than I’ve ever been with lots of responsibility, but in spite of all this it is important for me and for you to continue to keep our head in the game with the midterm elections coming up in a few short weeks.

Here are a few ideas of simple things you can do in your busy schedule:

  • Volunteer for a local campaign on a weekend
  • Make a few calls a day
  • Register friends and family or encourage people to register to vote
  • Teach a couple friends or family members about the founding and American greatness
  • Put signs in your yard or bumper stickers on your car
  • Donate, donate, donate – cash is king in many elections
  • Blog, tweet, and/or facebook about issues and candidates
  • Keep educating yourself and sharing knowledge with friends
  • Remember that November is coming and any time you invest will be well spent, so put a few things on hold and let’s get busy with winning this election!
